Have you ever been so busy that you felt like you didn’t know what side was up? Sometimes I will take a step back and just watch my wife doing her thing at home. She’s goes from cooking to doing the dishes. Then she hops over to the laundry machine to throw a load in. Then she sweeps the house while picking up the trail that the kids left behind in their wake. While in the middle of this I will ask her for a cup of coffee & the baby will ask for his meal as well, if you know what I mean. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. She is a machine. I don’t know how she does it day after day week after week.
I know what some of you are thinking; “Why are you just standing back and watching your poor wife do all of the work?” That is a good question which I will avoid at this point since it has nothing to do with the main point of this article. The point is, is that she seems to manage so much so well. She is Amazing. Sometimes I will watch the kids, this is a sacrifice for my wife. You say, “why is that, she’s the one who finally gets a break.” It is a sacrifice because she knows that when she gets home she will walk into a house that looks like Toy’s R us had just vomited into our living room. “Sorry Babe!” I will say…she is getting used to it.
All I can say is that I have a machine for a wife. Sometimes I pinch her just to make sure she is real.
I know, I am babbling. The point I am trying to make is that I like being busy. I like those times when I don’t know what end is up. I like being busy doing the Lord’s work. Work that I would not be able to do without the sacrifice and hard work of my wife.
This past month has been busy for our family. We have been working towards going to Honduras as missionaries. In the mean time we were planning and organizing a missions conference for our home church. It has been crazy to say the least. We have gone from getting fingerprints for visas to calling doctors for immunizations to meeting with possible supporters to visiting churches and so on and so on. Currently we are in Virginia. We are hoping to gain some more supporters down here as we share the burden God has given us for the people of Honduras.
Lately I feel like I don’t know what end is up…But I like it! I am praying I can carry this love for craziness to Honduras with me. I know Jennie will.
